Alex completes an internship at Hilltop Farm, Inc.

At the 2016 Intercollegiate Dressage Association National Championships, Alex was the Overall Champion of the USDF/IDA Quiz Challenge! She won a four week internship at Hilltop Farm, Inc. in Colora, MD which she extended for the entire summer. Here is what she had to say about the internship. "I have had many great experiences in the time that I've been at Hilltop Farm. I was able to gain experience working in the Main Barn, the Raising Department, as well as getting some Event Management experience in the office. I was at Hilltop for their 25th Anniversary celebration in June. It was great to see all the hard work that Team Hilltop put in to plan and run such a big event. Working in the Main Barn, I was able to see how a large facility was managed. Each day, I got experience handling the horses in the Main Barn and working with the mares and foals in the Raising Department one day per week. As the winner of the USDF/IDA Quiz Challenge, I was also given the opportunity to bring my horse to Hilltop with me. Each week I worked with assistant trainer Jessica Fay. I competed with my gelding in two Recognized shows for the first time at Second Level and received scores with which I was very pleased. I'd like to thank USDF and IDA for offering more opportunities to collegiate riders. I'd especially like to thank Hilltop Farm for their guidance during my internship and for their support of Intercollegiate Dressage."
